explore the cosmos

Astrology is not a book of answers; it's a way to track historical patterns across time. Reading astrology transits is like reading a choose-your-own-adventure novel. The Cosmic Collage presents you with the prompts needed to read your own chart and choose your next chapter.

how to play

The Cosmic Collage turns astrology into a game. The houses are the landscapes, the planets are the characters, your uploads are the inventory and the collage is the sequence of events. Each level is a layer of the collage, built one at a time.

your birth time

A natal chart is like a 24-hour clock. If you divide it into four quadrants, the top left represents the time between sunrise and noon, the next between noon and sunset, then sunset and midnight, then midnight and sunrise.

Your rising sign is assigned by placing your Sun along this clock. Adding your exact birth time is the only way to learn your rising sign, which assigns the order of the houses in your chart.

add birth chart

Without it, your chart isn't useless. Your planets are still in the right signs (the moon might be slightly off since it moves so quickly). You can still build a relationship with astrological archetypes, and over time, you might even be able to guess your rising sign (or you can hire someone to do a chart "rectification" where they analyze your life patterns and make an educated guess).

layer one: houses

The 12 houses are 12 different worlds in your life. Get to know each one by clicking its section of the chart and assigning a landscape and a wallpaper to represent it. Drag the wallpaper so the right part fills the house.

layer two: characters

Planetary actors are built to represent each planet in its home. Once your cast is built, the characters take the place of the planet glyphs on your chart.

layer three: conversations

The Venn diagram uses these assignments to build a conversation between the aspects. If Venus is in the eighth house trine Pluto in the fifth house, each circle shows that planet's house, wallpaper and character. Write whatever you want in the overlap, tag the life themes you want to track, and tag the emotions that describe the demeanor of each archetype in the conversation.

natal transits

Transits are weather passing through your houses. Click a planet on your chart to see the upcoming natal transits that include it, and an archive of the past transits to it that you tracked.

the archive

Once every layer is complete, an archive replaces the play tab. You've unlocked the castle, so to speak. Everything stays editable, but here you keep building layers of transiting planet aspects. When the weather hits, record how it feels with tags and photos. Each story gets filed in the houses it touched. Over time this builds a narrative that reveals how astrology influences our selves and our lives.
