Trail Guide to the Intention Intersection
Most treasure maps have a large red “X” to mark the destination. To create this for yourself, we invite you to create an Intention Intersection.
To label your destination with an intention intersection, imagine the center of the X is like a venn diagram, where all the sections overlap. Identify what themes apply in every section and think of that as a way to conceptualize your goal in one word or sentiment. Use these questions to hone in on where you are headed.
1. Tense
Create a clear direction for this energy to travel by choosing a tense for the intention:
Past tense - something that was finished is readdressed for healing purposes.
Present tense - nothing needs to change for the intention to bloom.
Future tense - circumstances need to change or something is not quite ripened.
2. Illustrate intent
Use sight, smell, taste, touch, and sounds to describe how embodying this intention would change your life?
How will your day to day life evolve?
What will you have to give up?
What will you gain?
3. Illustrate success
Do you ever look back on your intention or moodboards and struggle to remember what you really wanted? Use sight, smell, taste, touch, and sounds to describe what success would feel like.
How will you know you succeeded?
How would your life change?
Who would be effected?
4. Timeline
Define a container to hold this intention so that it can grow safely. Create an event in your calendar. When that day comes, the timeline is closed. Reflect on your intention and create a new one if needed.
